Orlando Food & Wine Fest
What a Perfect weekend... to be in Downtown Orlando. February 27th and 28th marked the 8th annual 2016 Downtown Orlando Food and Wine Fest at Lake Eola with over thirty area restuarants competing for Golden Fork Awards. This year's Foodie winner was The Baoery, an Asian gastropub in Thorton Park who served up awesome Asian Tacos. Winners included Primo for Best of Show, and Siro won the Sweet Treat Award with their amazing Black Cherry Liquid Nitro Gelato. The other great restaurants include Tapa Toro (I-Drive), Itta Bena (Pointe Orlando), and Maddeys Craft and Cru (Downtown Orlando). There was over 100 different menu tastings and 30,000 people attending the two day event.
The 2016 wine lineup could satisfy even an amateur winos deepest desires with samplings from the Jackson Family Wines, Zonin 1821, Kobrand, and Barefoot Wine and Bubbly. The Wine Taster Club Lanyard was a great options for wine lovers with Club members receiving five 2 oz. pours of their choice throughout the Fest and a souvenir lanyard. Overall, the event was a great way to spend the weekend. How can you go wrong with the great weather, great food and great entertainment the Downtown Food and Wine Fest provided?
