2015 Downtown Orlando Food & Wine Fest
The tradition continued as more than 20,000 foodies and wine lovers experienced unique local cuisine paired with wines from around the globe at this year’s 2015 Downtown Orlando Food & Wine Fest.
The Seventh Annual Downtown Food & Wine Fest has established itself as a signature event for Orlando. Thirty top local restaurants were scheduled to present the culinary tastings that has made The Fest the perfect combination of divine food, unique wines, and headliner entertainment right in the heart of downtown.
In the second year covering the event our taste buds were anticipating for the return of 2014 Golden Fork Award winner’s Siro and Smiling Bison, and premier tastings from Primo, Marlow’s Tavern, and Tibby’s.
The 2015 culinary lineup did not disappoint with many mouthwatering dishes. The Foodie Award which recognized the best food item of the Downtown Food and Wine Fest for taste, unique flavor, and culinary excellence going to Marlow’s Tavern for their melt in your mouth southern sensation of Shrimp and Grits. The 2015 Sweet Treat award winner was presented to Primo at JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lake for their whimsical rendition of a Cannoli Gelato Cone. Finally, for the third year in a row, Siro at Marriott World Center received the 2015 Best Show Award, which recognized the fun factor, overall energy, and crowd vibe. Other fabulous tastings included Cooper’s Hawk Bourbon Jambalaya, Copper Canyon’s Fillet with Bleu Cheese Butter & Chilean Red Wine Reduction, Peach Valley’s Apple Fritters, Christner’s Ahi Tuna with Mushrooms, and Hawker’s Pork Belly Bao.
The 2015 wine lineup satisfied all wino’s deepest desires with samplings from the Jackson Family Wines, Kendall-Jackson, Chloe Wine, and the Foley Family Wines. The Wine Taster’s Club Lanyard was a great options for wine lovers with Club members receiving five 2 oz. pours of their choice throughout the Fest and a souvenir lanyard. Overall, it was a great event with a little something for everyone. Already looking forward to next year!
